Head of the Charles Regatta

I rowed bow seat in the 1V for Head of the Charles and we won the entire event. We didn’t just win, we totally dominated. We passed the Dutch National Team as we were passing Riverside, and we beat second place BU by 11 seconds. I won a gold medal at Head of the Charles. It was pretty epic. I got to stand on the medal stands with Lisa cheering my name and Gevvie in the crowd, never mind the other Olympians. At the finish line, whispering in disbelief to JB, slapping my leg so hard it hurt, wanting to punch the water, seeing Lizzie sob in 6 seat, giving everyone a hug on the dock—all those moments were filled with probably the most euphoria I will ever feel. But I won’t pretend there wasn’t a lot of pain behind it all.
